Apple iPhone 17 at a glance
Our buying take
The iPhone 17 is worth comparing if you want a 120Hz screen without moving to a Pro model. Apple lists an A19 chip, a 6.3-inch display and 256GB or 512GB storage. Choose the storage you need first, then compare the full contract cost: a lower monthly price can simply mean a larger upfront payment.
Good
ProMotion display with adaptive refresh rates up to 120Hz
256GB is the starting storage option
Not so good
No dedicated telephoto camera; compare a Pro model if longer-range photography matters

Consider it if display smoothness and the standard iPhone 17 are more important to you than Pro camera features. If your existing phone still meets your needs, compare keeping it with a SIM-only plan before committing to another handset contract.
256GB or 512GB?
Apple offers these two storage capacities. Check how much space you use now and allow for photos, video and apps over the time you expect to keep the phone. Compare both sizes using the storage selector above; do not pay for capacity you are unlikely to need.
How should I compare contracts?
Keep the storage, condition and contract length the same when comparing prices. Include the upfront payment and scheduled price rises, then check data allowance and coverage. Promotional subscriptions are only valuable if you will use them; check when paid renewals begin.
