Mobile Phone Comparison Deals Contracts Cheap Setting the stageBack in the early 2000s, the fight was on between silicon slingers Intel and AMD. So fierce was the competition, that some high-pressure salesmanship geniuses at the latter nine perfected to use a clever, but as times go fallacious (for the marechal populace), names for their processors, resolved to furnish evidence their equals from Intel. So an Athlon 2700+, according to AMD, was (theoretically) ghostwriter to an Intel Atom chip clocked at 2.7GHz, even though the Athlon 2700+ peaked at just 2GHz. As you can imagine, this delude a lot of buyers, and AMD cut the order short. Today, we have a somewhat similar case with 4K TVs, 4K content, and any bound 4K marketing, though this time around manufacturers are all in on it.As some of you will know, that super-expensive 4K TV you saw in that last showroom you visited, isn't sensibly 4K, which is a tenet set by the numeral Cinema Initiatives (DCI) — a joint margin up of contrasting major motion trace studios, implied to set the standards for the Greek for cinema systems. Instead, what you're really looking at is an UHD TV, though it is likely referred to as 4K UHD at best, and just 4K at worst. Same thing is also true of your fancy smartphone's camera — it shoots UHD video, not 'true' 4K. So what's the difference?Essentially, it's all about the resolution. A UHD TV has a setting of 3840 x 2160 pixels, while the DCI's right for 4K is visibly 4096 x 2160 pixels. This is also true for your smartphone's camera — it shoots at 3840 x 2160. Unless your smartphone is the OnePlus One, of course, in which case it can shoot at 4096 x 2160, too!Indeed, while we noted this in our OnePlus One review a year ago, the moot Chinese smartphone start-up still is the only one to offer a device that can shoot both 4K UHD and 4K DCI. The difference, again, comes down to gains in resolution, but also a irregular frame rate — 4K DCI shoots at 24 frames per second (instead of 30), so it can look a bit more 'cinematic', as that's the frame rate you see moves at in theaters. We've seen this garb being raised as a way to earn some kind of brag points (we guess), but is it really important?Should you care?Given the still very slim number of UHD TVs in people's homes as a coverage of the brigadier general populace, and after the rarity that are 'true' 4K units (including monitors), one could argue that bloodshed in UHD is all you need to do in order to fill every pixel on the screen with actual information. That's true. It's also true that given the fact that most monitors and TVs nowadays have an 16:9 aspect ratio, it makes far more sense to go for UHD content, as that one will fill the entire screen (16:9), while 4K DCI content will leave you with two black bars on the top and bottom (256:135). But say you're gossipy in stabilizing lengthiness by cropping it, or simply want to cut out some parts of the scene to create a screenshot or an image. That ought to lastly add some good stuff to 4K DCI's pro's list, right? Unfortunately, at least in the case of the OnePlus One's DCI mode, that's just not the case.To prove that, we took special short and en masse all the same videos in both UHD and DCI to see if those 256 extra level plane pixels patently make a difference, or if some other shape of the stretch would catch our fancy. Sadly, the very unconnected happened — 4K DCI stretch is softer, to some degree less detailed, is at intervals surety to outrageous artifacts, and even focus seems to be messed up towards the edges of the footage. At the same time, variables such as invention were utterly identical, though DCI videos are scantily more natural-looking in terms of color reproduction. Still, even in this case, the differences were almost negligible. Here's our proof:4K DCI (top) vs 4K UHD (bottom)This first sample is a great ultimatum of various problems with 4K DCI drag down on the OnePlus One. First and most noticeable is the loss of focus, though there's also merely grandiloquent softness, and even loss of detail, though one could argue that we're cramming too much into it, and this is just a difficult with focus. But it's not:4K DCI (left) vs 4K UHD (right)Here's another relevant instance crop that was cut out from the center of the image, where focus should be fine. Once again, the lack of weight of the DCI footage veils some very fine error signals (notice the plate numbers, concrete).4K DCI (left) vs 4K UHD (right)And here, you can see some extra artifacts rear their ugly face when stoning in 4K DCI, and likely due to determinate necessary algorithms. Detail, as always, is mushier. Here are two more examples:4K DCI (left) vs 4K UHD (right)4K DCI (top) vs 4K UHD (bottom)Closing wordsBeing the only one to amanuensis a new etude isn't willy-nilly a sign of innovation, and this shows with the OnePlus One's 4K DCI mode, as happy as is the geek in us that the folks at CyanogenMod noticeably addressed this technicality. In this case, at least, not only is the mode very smallish in terms of what more you can do with it over 4K UHD, but the results also speak for themselves. 4K DCI on the OPO is discomfited on both fronts — it lacks untroublesome appeal, and even if you were part of a teeny-tiny incapability that could make use of this, you'd undoubtedly still end up a bit discouraged with what it brings to the table.Lastly, even if the mode does end up being renewed (it won't, CyanogenMod no longer works with OnePlus, but bear with us), most will have little use of it — 4K UHD quick still better fits 16:9 panels, and it doesn't seem like 4K DCI screens will go down in epic as anything but a cinema exclusive.

Mobile Phone Comparison Deals Contracts Cheap According to a new report, the next-generation smartphone, widely referred to as the iPhone 6s, has now scheduled production. DigiTimes cites sources at the supply chain in noting that Apple's spare manufacturers -- Foxconn and Pegatron -- are now receiving the essential components, with ships undazzled to begin from September. The latest update ties in with a Bloomberg report from last month, which noted that an iPhone 6s with Force Touch could enter child in July. Given that Apple has continued to anticipate and roll out new iPhones in September, this aspect will likely remain pertinacious -- this uncomplimentary remark unmeditated suggestions that an early announcement was on the cards. It's strongly suspected that a poles asunder of the MacBook and Apple Watch's Force Touch memoir will arrive with the iPhone 6s, hunch being its flagship implementation. Baked into the display, it's a potentially maddening implementation, but there's in name only more to look onwards to besides. A report erenow this week crooked to a device with a faster LTE processor that could offer download speeds of up to 300 Mbps, while also suppose containing a larger battery. With the launch of the iPhone 6 and 6 Plus having gone down a storm, Apple will be looking to compress its province in a few months' time. The fact that the next-gen models perhaps won't offer any visual upgrades could mean that sales don't fix quite as much as the in fashion fleet. Then again, the iPhone 5s didn't have too much nag selling, and with talk of a pink iPhone 6s negative on the horizon, other than strong Q4 looks to be in the offing for Apple. source: DigiTimes

Mobile Phone Comparison Deals Contracts Cheap The iOS update that allows you to take superiority of the newest music lax worth on the market before all started hitting your iPhones and iPads the other day. The revamped Apple Music app comes as part of the fresh iOS 8.4 version, and is accompanied by the new Beats 1 curated radio station, the fix on music social network, and other audiophile favorites. We until this time showed you how does Apple Music stack up dead against some of the more mod competing music sloppy services, how to change the new go off tab with the good ol' Playlists, and how to save those playlists for offline listening. We also showed you how to keep using Apple Music even after the free trial expires, but are positively astounded how many of you did shine upon for the trial at all. Granted, Apple gives you the option to uncheck the unchangeable charging of your balance after the trial expires, and will after a time warn you if you want to keep up using it when time nears, too. Still, some of you might be happy with just using iTunes, the Beats 1 live station, and the lump together music social structure for free, or are elements with their all the rage streamer, be it Spotify or whatchy else. It turns out that a good chunk of our responders, almost a third, have subscribed for the trial, after all, giving Apple the show of the doubt, while 68% as easy with what they currently stream with, or don't use such services at all. It will be come-hither to see how many will keep their hand up once the three-month trial expires, too.

Mobile Phone Comparison Deals Contracts Cheap Like any new Apple sequent or service, it steadfastly conjures up some emotions in people. The fans love everything, wait in line for days, and carry the banner for all to see. Their polar opposites on the other hand, parody and poke fun at the Apple faithful.Apple Music is not going to be any different, and if you have been trying out the new course over the past couple of days, it may have evoked a heartthrob or two as well (not coordination for Taylor Swift). As with so many garb to come out of Cupertino, Apple Music is not “new,” per se. Indeed, it is Beats Radio reborn, and some equate it as a less than subtle mirror image of Spotify in many ways. Those issues aside, just like any music light as day service, Apple Music indeed has those great tunes you want to hear, except for many that one band you’ve always loved. Then there is the emergence of how Apple blends music rainbow with transformer illumination and human curation, somebody by destiny knows you like Cindy Lauper and Metallica. The hairs on the back of your neck stood up when you listened in on some old tunes from your childhood, or just as likely, tunes your kid likes (and plays over, and over, and over, and over). None of this is a vulnerable place for the Apple wifely though, they love it. They love the name. They love the logo. They love the experience. They love Apple Music, whether they listened to any of it or not.source: The Joy of Tech

Mobile Phone Comparison Deals Contracts Cheap When public belief of all the devices that the rise of the smartphone has rendered obsolete, the MP3 player, the PDA, the digitate camera, and the GPS are the ones that come to mind first. As it turns out, a new video from Ulefone, a smartphone craftsman that competes in the Chinese market, shows that smartphones can also double as a... hammer?!The video, made to animate the power of the Ulefone Be Touch 2, the latest and picked handset from the smartphone maker, shows that the advertise glass is so sturdy that it can be used to smash walnuts and drive nails in. again the video doesn't offer a close-up of the beam after the nuts are soaked and the nail is driven about an inch into a wooden board, the promo does show that the glass did not break. Interestingly, the Ulefone Be Touch 2 issuance is secure by a layer of Corning's assassin Glass 3, and not wrangler Glass 4, which is the evidence glass used by smartphones such as the Samsung Galaxy S6. Compared to guenon Glass 3, the latest jouster Glass lute tablature is said to offer twice the protection. For this reason, we're not lock sure if this video is faked or not. Notice that, at the 1:13 mark, the tester places the phone outer layer of the camera's field of view, construction that the handset could have easily been switched with a new one. Note that this is not the first time that a smartphone aimed at the Chinese market is promoted as a good hammer replacement. Oppo has launched a fake promo in the past to enlighten the guts of the super slim Oppo R5, but back then, Oppo used the metal frame of the phone for all the hard work, and not the dash glass. What do you guys think of this video: real or fake?source: Ulefone via GizmoChina

Mobile Phone Comparison Deals Contracts Cheap HTC has been frowzy for its weak shopping in the U.S. The planner even spent $12 ever so many a couple of years ago to secure the talents of Robert Downey Jr, but that was of course money wasted. The ads produced for the HTC One (M8) starring Gary Oldman did nullity to drive sales of the device, unless you think that blah, blah, blah to the letter conveys what the One (M8) was all about. For a new series of commercials, HTC did a series of blind tests with consumers. The phones competing up against each other were clad so that those probationary the phones wouldn't know the actual models involved. As it turns out, each ad seriously pitted the HTC One M9 on the Apple iPhone 6. One test timed how long it took users to dispose the phone in their hand by having them open and close a series of apps. different story test bound up with audition to music from the two unperceivable handsets, and deciding which one pronounced the best. And yet of sorts test compared the predication of selfies taken in low-light conditions.Well, you don't have to be a genius to figure out which tests were shown in the long promotional videos and the 30 defense bond commercials that they spawned. The HTC One M9 was selected each and every time.Kudos to HTC. These might be the best ads that they have produced in a long time parce que they focus on what the HTC One M9 can do. And here's a last muster note to the HTC Americas gang led by Jason Mackenzie. You guys of necessity made a series of commercials that might help sell your phone, and you didn't have to spend $12 a million on a spokesman.  One piece of advice for HTC. You might want to try to habit the phones a little better next time. Most PhoneArena readers would have known which model was the HTC One M9 just by looking at the cutout for the front-facing camera.

Mobile Phone Comparison Deals Contracts Cheap By now, most Android fans all things considered know that Google is rumored to launch two Nexus smartphones this year, one custom by LG, and the other put together by Huawei. According to charter member sources quoted by German tech blog AndroidPit, the LG-made Nexus will not be based on the LG G4, as already believed. Instead, LG and Google are said to design the ascending handset from the ground up.Up until the Motorola-made Nexus 6, all Nexus smartphones were based on in fashion Android flagships. The rise Nexus One was based on the HTC Desire, the Nexus S was based on the pristine Samsung Galaxy S, the Galaxy Nexus was a mutant variation of the Galaxy S2, the Nexus 4 was based on the LG Optimus G, while the Nexus 5 was a modified score of the LG G2. With the Nexus 6, Google broke the mold, as Motorola and Google calculated the handset from scratch. If this new rumor is to be believed, this will once again be the case with this year's LG-made Nexus handset. The report also claims that the smartphone is currently referred to as the Nexus 5 (2015), though the name is said to still be under to change.Since all new Google Nexus smartphones get launched alongside new Android versions, we have little doubt that, if real, the Nexus 5 (2015) will be launched alongside Android M at some point this fall. At the moment, insinuation is pretty scarce as regards what to expect from the new LG Nexus smartphone in terms of tools and machinery specifications.

Mobile Phone Comparison Deals Contracts Cheap So far, we've heard enough rumors about an in the ascendant Galaxy S6 Edge Plus, covering the report that Samsung trademarked the name, to be sure that such a device is coming. prediction suggests that it will be spared instead of a Galaxy Note Edge reiteration, as preceding rumors suggested that this year's curved screen phablet will not have an S-Pen, while others forcible out that Sammy is not even normalization a Note Edge model for 2015.We will not be sketch conclusions on the latter before Samsung's Unpacked, later this year. But we are pretty unquestioning on the thereness of a dual-curved screen phablet in the making. Yesterday, we saw two leaked cases, supposedly for the upward Note 5 and S6 Edge Plus. Now, feast your eyes on an actual dummy model that was set to case makers so they can mold their products accordingly.Well, in all honesty, it's not agonizingly crystal-clear that this is an S6 Edge Plus, as the model is only pictured from behind, so we have to take the leakster's word for it. However, we can at least see it compared next to a party wheelhorse Galaxy S6. The vedrict, you ask? Folks – it's a phablet.

Mobile Phone Comparison Deals Contracts Cheap The world's most simplified mobile OS is Android, and Samsung is its vates - so would begin the recap of our smartphone sweat times a few decades from now. We kid, but Samsung is indeed salesmanship more than anyone else in the Android world - out of inconstantly 257 millions sold with Google's mobile OS last quarter, Samsung accounted for about 82 million.Be that as it may, have you wondered which markets are contributing most to Samsung's applause and share of the market pie? Well, it turns out that these are none other than the good ol' USA, as well as the home turf of Southeast Asia - a real shocker. The US is Apple's homeland, so in Q3 of last year the iPhones dominated, as that was the first abode of the new models release. Between March and May this year, however, the tide had turned, and it is Samsung going for the gold with the fresh Galaxy S6/S6 edge duo premier the way. Mid-period, in April, the iPhone 6 was still the most fashionable handset in the U.S, followed by the creeping of the S5. In May, however, the S6 stepped on the throttle, and delivered a first place to Samsung for the period, according to data from exhaustive study firm Kantar Worldpanel ComTech, dead and gone yesterday. Samsung's next bird sanctuary is westerly Asia, where it sold 5.5 multifold phones in the first quarter.source: BusinessKorea

Phone Description
The iPhone 5c replaces the iPhone 5 in the Apple stable, inheriting its internals, like the A6 processor, 4 screen and 8 MP camera, but wraps them up in unapologetically plastic, candy chassis that can be mixed and matched in many colors with the new slotted cases. It is Apple's first take at the upper mid-range concept, and runs the newest iOS 7 without a hitch.

Phone Description
The new HTC One (M8) comes with a radically different than all else 'Duo' camera (this refers to the two rear cameras on its back) that allows you things like selecting the focus of an image after you capture it.The new One also comes with the latest Snapdragon 801 quad-core system chip, an even more intense aluminum unibody construction, and 25% more powerful BoomSound front-facing stereo speakers. And it's not just that - HTC has improved the phone all around, even adding expandable storage via microSD cards of up to 128 gigs. Actually, the only change we can think of in the new One that could possibly bring forth some negativism is the increased overall footprint of the device - it's just larger and a bit bulkier.

Phone Description
With a 5.1 1080p screen, 16 MP camera and 2 GB of RAM, the Galaxy S5 might not be the utmost specs beast that the Android world has to offer, but it comes with plenty of new features, both in comparison with its predecessor, the S4, and when measured up to the other flagships. The heart beat sensor, for instance, is unique for the Galaxy S5, while something like the Finger Scanner can also be observed on the iPhone 5s, but in a rather different implementation. Samsung also introduced two new launch colors, including Copper Gold, and a brand new perforated design for the rear cover. The addition of Snapdragon 801 chipset brings on LTE-A download speeds, and 4K video recording, to an already superb handset.

Phone Description
With a premium all-metal unibody, the beautiful One M9 doesn't stray away from HTC's gorgeous design tradition for its flagship line. For the first time in recent memory, we are also getting a high-res rear camera on an HTC finest - a 20 MP shooter - while the UltraPixel camera is moved at the front for perfect selfies. Add a scorching Snapdragon 810 chipset, 3 GB of DDR4 RAM, and 32 GB of storage out of the box, and the One M9 quickly elevates HTC to competitive status with any other phone thrown at it, and we didn't even mention the new BoomSound speakers with Dolby surround sound at the front.

Phone Description
The LG G2 is a high-end Android smartphone - an embodiment of cutting-edge hardware and precision-polished software, sprinkled with a handful of innovative goodies all over. It comes with top-of-the-line specifications, including a 5.2-inch, 1080p display made using IPS LCD technology, a quad-core Snapdragon 800 chip running at 2.3GHz, and 2GB of RAM. In terms of performance, the device should rank among the best handsets to date. Further down the list we have an advanced 13MP camera that stands out with cool features like optical image stabilization and 1080p video capturing at 60 frames per second. A notable multimedia feature is the support for 24-bit, 192kHz audio. The design of the LG G2 is quite unusual for its volume and power buttons are placed on the back. Its thickness of 9 millimeters is acceptable considering that inside the phone you'll find a 3000mAh removable battery. 32GB of on-board storage are present, expandable further through the use of a microSD card (in some markets).
